After George Fowkes served as an officer in the United States Air Force, he came back to Pittsburgh where he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1962.  Since that time, Mr. Fowkes has represented and counseled businesses and individuals in a variety of matters ranging from complex commercial litigation, including trade secret and intellectual property matters to wills, trusts and estates.  Mr. Fowkes spent his initial years practicing in a downtown law firm before he established his own practice in Oakmont, PA where among, others Mr. Fowkes practiced with Ginny Birmingham and Michael G. Winklmann.  Most recently, Mr. Fowkes and his partner of many years, Michael G. Winklmann practiced under the firm name of Fowkes & Birmingham.  Mr. Winklmann, a 1984 graduate of the Duquesne University of Law School has a general practice of law that includes, business formation, contracts, family law, wills trusts and estates and criminal law.

In 2009 Joseph F. Rodkey, Jr. came on board with Fowkes & Birmingham as a partner and the firm name was changed to Fowkes Rodkey.  Prior to joining Fowkes Rodkey, Mr. Rodkey was a partner at Reed Smith, LLP (a global law firm of more than 1,700 attorneys) where, for 16 years, he practiced complex commercial litigation, including trade secret and non-competition agreements, insurance coverage, business contracts, First Amendment and creditors rights in courtrooms all over the country. Mr. Rodkey’s extensive talents bring a wide range of legal experience to Fowkes Rodkey and enhances the firm’s ability to provide both the business community and individuals with big firm representation at affordable cost.
